Prior to your visit

If you wish to sign a document, you must bring valid Swedish ID or a Swedish or foreign passport with you. Your identity will be checked at the time of your visit. 

It is important that you find out how the document is to be legalised. Different countries have different ways in which they want this to be carried out. In some cases, different public authorities or recipients of documents in the same country may have different ways in which the document is to be legalised.
